Our laboratory has multiple sections, including routine hematology, urinalysis, bone marrow counting, special hematology, and cytochemistry. In the hematology lab, we primarily perform complete blood count (CBC) and white blood count (WBC) differential analysis. We use the latest technology to identify abnormalities present in anemias, leukemias, and other hematologic diseases.
Urinalysis is a simple but valuable screening tool for the detection of underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease. We use automated procedures, including an automated dipstick reader and a flow cytometric-based analyzer, supported by manual examination procedures. We complete bone marrow differentials and submit findings with the other hematology discipline analyses using flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry, as well as pathologist interpretation.
