Licensure and Accreditation Information

The University of Chicago Medical Center Laboratories are licensed by the State of Illinois and are certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA). In addition, our Blood Bank is licensed under the Food and Drug Administration.

The Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Joint Commission (TJC). The Blood Bank and Donor Center are also accredited by AABB. The Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics Laboratory is also accredited by the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI).
