Jason Cheng, MD, PhD, serves as Assistant Professor and an attending physician in Hematopathology. His clinical expertise is in the diagnosis of hematologic diseases, especially bone marrow diseases such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). He received his MD from Kunming Medical University and a master’s degree in pathology from Peking (Beijing) Medical University, China. He received his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked as a postdoctoral associate in molecular biology/genetics at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as his fellowship training in hematopathology at the University of Chicago. He has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and won the Pathologist-in-Training Award from the Society for Hematopathology, the Paul E. Strandjord Young Investigator Award in 2008, and the Cancer Research Foundation Young Investigator Award in 2014.
