Our Point of Care Testing (POCT) Laboratory and several decentralized laboratories provide support to all areas performing point-of-care/bedside testing and near-bedside testing. The extensive test menu includes several waived tests, including whole blood glucose, urine hCG, urine dipstick, rapid HIV, and several other tests performed by patient care personnel. The POCT test menu also includes moderately complex tests such as blood gas testing, activated clotting time (ACT) testing, and several provider-performed tests. We are also responsible for continuous compliance with all the regulatory requirements to accrediting agencies such as the College of American Pathologists, Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment, and the Joint Commission.
