Gladell P. Paner, MD, is the associate director of UChicago MedLabs and Associate Professor in Pathology and Surgery. A lecturer at several renowned national and international medical conferences, Paner completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Loyola University in Illinois, followed by a fellowship in surgical pathology with an emphasis in genitourinary pathology at Emory University. He has authored three books, several book chapters, and 80 peer-reviewed publications, mostly about urological pathology. He contributed to the most recent World Health Organization classification of genitourinary tumors and to national and international practice guidelines. Paner worked as a urological research investigator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the director of the immunohistochemistry laboratory at Loyola before moving to his current position in 2010.
