Autopsy

Most melanocytic lesions are benign neoplasms or composed of melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells that constitutively colonize the epidermis. The malignant form of melanocytic nevi is melanoma.

At the University of Chicago Medicine, we offer extensive and comprehensive consultation services for melanocytic lesions, including FISH and gene rearrangement studies. Our consultative report will enable the clinician team to provide the right treatment for each patient.

For additional information, or if you have specific questions, please contact Customer Service, and one of our client service representatives would be happy to help you.
