We offer diagnostic and consultative services to referring physicians to aid in the identification of diseases of the lung, mediastinum, and heart. Our world-renown pathologists specialize in evaluating malignant and benign diseases, including lung cancer, mesothelioma, thymoma, interstitial lung disease, pediatric and infectious diseases, and pre- and post-lung and heart transplant pathology. We provide initial assessments of urgent biopsies, review all material with faculty and clinicians, and participate in various multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards. We utilize state-of-the-art fluorescence in situ hybridization, immunohistochemical, and molecular techniques in both the analysis of clinical material and translational research in all areas of thoracic pathology, including inflammatory lung disease, lung transplantation, neoplastic pulmonary pathology, and the pathology of the mediastinum.
