Assistant Professor Megan McNerey, MD, PhD, studies the development of leukemia and the effect of transcription factor haploinsufficiency on hematopoietic cells. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Chicago. The author of more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, McNerney has received a number of honors, including a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fellowship, the 2013 Researcher of the Year Award from the Illinois Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Cancer Research Foundation Young Investigator Award. As a board-certified clinical pathologist, she performs analysis and clinical interpretation of next-generation sequencing results of gene panels to guide the diagnosis and treatment of hematology-oncology patients.
