Anthony Chang, MD, is the medical director of UChicago MedLabs, director of renal pathology and the renal pathology fellowship program, associate director of the pathology residency program, and Professor in Pathology. He earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He trained in anatomic and clinical pathology, and completed a fellowship in renal pathology at the University of Washington. Chang served as president of the Chicago Pathology Society from 2011 to 2013. He will serve as vice president of the Renal Pathology Society in 2016 and president in 2017. He has authored or co-authored 18 book chapters, including the kidney chapter in the ninth edition of Robbins and Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease, and he has written more than 70 peer-reviewed papers and reviews. His research interests include the role of B and plasma cells in lupus nephritis and transplant rejection.
