Beverly Baron, MD, serves as the medical director of the Blood Bank and the director of the ACGME-accredited fellowship program in blood banking and transfusion medicine, which she also founded. Baron’s research interests include BCL6, a gene associated with lymphomas, and blood banking and transfusion medicine. She is a member of the committee that develops the resident in-service exams for her field and the fellow in-service exams in transfusion medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College and her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Baron completed an internship in internal medicine and additional training in cardiovascular pathology, surgical pathology, and blood banking at the University of Chicago.
